Check-In Assistant 

Reports To: Kayla
Position Summary: To ensure all children are properly registered and in correct class
Start Time: Sundays: 10am & Wednesdays 6:30pm

Dress Code:
As a representative of LOFBC, here are a few things we want to mention concerning dress:

Women:
Pants-
dressy jeans are ok, but no rips or holes.
Shirt-
modest, sleeveless tops/blouses are ok, but no tank tops permitted (if worn, must enter the church with a blazer/jacket)
Dresses/skirts
- dresses must be modest, with length right above the knee or longer.
Wear your dressier outfits on Sunday


Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Wear name badge when on duty
  • If you will be late or unable to be at church as scheduled, it is your responsibility to text your department leader as soon as you know.
  • Greet all parents and kids warmly
  • Know the procedure for registering children and guests
  • Assist with labeling children’s items if parent needs help
  • Inform new parents/guests on security procedures concerning their children to make them feel safe.

Foyer Director 

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary: Monitor activity in foyer and throughout building.
Start Time: Sundays from 10:25am-10:50am & Wednesdays from 6:40pm-7:05pm

  • Be aware of any suspicious behavior
  • Guide visitors to the sanctuary
  • Take the lead to give first-time guests a tour from Phase 1 to Phase 2 (if they arrive in Phase 1 first)
  • Keep an eye on parking lot when walking from Phase 1 to Phase 2
  • Be aware of positions that may need to be filled concerning greeters, check-in, or door man
  • Oversee Children’s Check-in, watch for new guests, and act as a “go-to” for other greeters
  • Ensures the atmosphere is good (lighting, air, music, TV, attitudes, etc.), makes any adjustments if needed
  • Ready to troubleshoot and address problems
  • Reports any problems to Kayla (if to do with children's area)

Greeter

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary: To cultivate a warm, friendly, spirit-filled experience upon arrival of all guests.
Romans 15:7: “Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
Start Time: Arrive promptly and be in position 30 minutes before the service-be prayerful

  • Greet everyone with a smile. A handshake is appropriate if the guest seems open to it.
  • With purpose, maintain a joyful disposition (be overflowing)
  • Remember that your actions can determine how much people receive during service
  • Minimize conversations with other greeters. Be available!
  • Must follow proper contact card procedures for any first-time guests you have greeted and corresponded with.

Sanctuary Seater

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary: To provide friendly assistance to all guests; fill seats towards front of sanctuary
Start Time: Post time is 10:30am on Sundays & 6:50pm on Wednesdays

  • Fill every section from front to back and eliminate large gaps of empty seats
  • If needed, kindly ask people to move over one or two seats to create room
  • Seat parents of babies on end seats
  • Be especially alert of people coming in during Praise & Worship. In order to limit distractions, have a plan as to where you will seat them when they arrive

Security #1 Usher

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary: To keep secure the church buildings and property throughout the duration of church services, and provide friendly Spirit-filled assistance to all guests
Start Time: Arrive promptly and be in position 30 minutes before the service in the Spirit

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Primary Duty:  monitor hallway activity, main entrance, parking lot, and service ( on the P1 foyer TV)
  • Position: sit in the blue chair facing the hallway in the P1 Foyer
  • Security One functions as doorman, greeter, check-in etc. for late-comers
  • Cell phones are to be used for security purposes only while serving 1.e. no personal business while on duty
  • Keeper of the ‘Children’s Ministry Access Card’
  • Write down any unusual traffic in and out of sanctuary, foyer, bathrooms during service—address issues as necessary
  • Check on classrooms that seem overly loud
  • Be aware of any suspicious behavior
  • Complete Security Usher Report and put in lockbox outside of Church Office area

Security #2 Usher

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary: To secure the sanctuary throughout the duration of service, provide friendly assistance to all
Start Time: 30 minutes before service

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Position: seated in the right rear of sanctuary by the double doors
  • Primary Duties: watch over sanctuary and ensure a safe, distraction-free worship environment
  • Responsible for the sanctuary lights on Sunday.  See Walter for any lighting changes.
  • Lead latecomers to seat in the back area
  • Address any continuous distractive behavior during service by discreetly asking an individual(s) to follow you to foyer. Have an usher accompany you (if the individual is a female, a woman greeter should accompany you)
  • Serve as back-up to security #1
  • Be aware of any suspicious behavior

Security #3 Usher

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary: To secure the sanctuary throughout the duration of service, provide friendly assistance to all guests
Start Time: Be in position on Sundays at 9:50 & 6:30 on Wednesdays.

Dress Code:

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Position:  left side of sanctuary, end seat, last row, middle aisle
  • Primary duty: Back-up to Security #2 usher, watch over sanctuary and ensure a safe, distraction-free worship environment
  • Serves as the “early” security presence to sit in the booth and provide children’s check-in badge (when needed). Once security #1 arrives then #3 moves to his position in the sanctuary.
  • Address any continuous distractive behavior during service by discreetly asking the individual(s) to follow you to foyer. Have an usher accompany you (if the individual is a female, a woman greeter should accompany you)
  • Be aware of any suspicious behavior

Ushers  |  Seaters  |  Doorman

Reports To: Walter
Position Summary:  To provide friendly spirit-filled assistance to all guests of LOFBC; attentive to all needs before, during, and after service
Start Time: Be in position 30 mins before service

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • If late or unable to make a service, it is your responsibility to notify Walter
  • Greet guests warmly
  • Be aware of any needs and assist accordingly (tissues, lending a pen, baby carrier)
  • Be proactive - see a need before its needed
  • In the event of inclement weather (heavy rain, hail, heavy wind, etc.) all ushers should be available to assist the ladies or the elderly from their car to foyer. After service, offer to assist ladies and elderly out to car
  • Doormen: Be sure the entry rug is swept, glass doors are clean, and if needed, sweep any mulch that overflows onto sidewalk (primarily after a rain)
  • Minimize conversation with other ushers and church members. Be available
  • Continually roam your section and get to know people by introducing yourself
  • Limit distractions
  • Periodically look to Walter for any questions during service
